Two Garmin F**k ups the weekend that didnt effect anyone except myself.
I've emailed them direct but can you fix them yourself??
Left my garmin on coming home for one and was running with it in my pocket some button was pressed for the other.
    Any help appreciated.

If you need trim off a section at the atart or end of the ride, thats easy enough. On the page showing the ride, click on the 'Actions' button beneath the ride stats summary and you will see a 'Crop Ride' button that allows you to use a slider to delete sections at either end of the route/track. Once done, you cannot undo, so 'measure twice, cut once' etc

Strava allows you to crop the ride - but only the start or the end.

This is what I did recently:
    • Export the ride out of Strava in the format of a GPX file (Under "Actions")
    • Download the freeware software "GPX Editor" (Available here)
    • Use GPX Editor to load up your file.
    • Delete the bad bits*
    • Save the repaired GPX file
    • Upload it again with Strava.

Strava support have helped me in the past but I found I was able to do a better job myself.

*I had a number of "spikes" to Africa on my cycle. These were easy to spot and easy to delete. Click on the "Google Maps" and "Preview" tabs in the app to see the ride. Then "drill down" through the hierarchy on the LHS panel and then select the "Point List" tab to see all the individual points that make up the ride. At the end of the screen you will see another visual representation of the ride and this will allow you to identify the spurious data. Sounds a lot more complicated that it is!

Blaa man cropped it no bother. cheers for that.

Route66 thats a head scratcher as you say it looks complicated so I'll go at it with a fresh head tomorrow.
Went to download the gpx editor and said my winzup free trial was over?
thanks for the help fresh head might be a better start tomorrow.

The download is a zip file. You will need something to open a zip file in order to install it.

Once you have it installed, it's not that hard to operate. I'm familiar with computers but have no background in GPX or XML files; just a determination to beat the €rap out of it until it fixes my ride get it fixed!
