    i have a problen with my opel zafera, while driving yesterday we discovered that on pressing the brake, the car accelerates so i have no brakes and 2 accelerators. Any ideas as to why this should happen?

    The two pedals are completely separate systems so other then the floor mat catching the accelerator pedal when you press the brake or your foot accidentally pressing both pedals it isn't possible for the car to accelerate when you press the brake.

    However, if you have lost brake pressure then the sensation of acceleration can be created as your body expects the car to slow when you press the brakes. Its not that the car accelerates, its just that it doesn't decelerate as your expecting it to.
