I am currently working in financial services and looking to the future, and for sometime I have been trying to decide whether to go the Accountancy route qualification or get a Maths Degree. Which subject offers best career prospects going forward into the future.

    Would appreciate any advice.

Depends on what direction you want your career to go. Accountancy is obviously a lot more specialized. You will most likely have success in the field of Accountancy. If thats what you want then thats what you should possibly choose!

If you go the Maths route then you open up your career to a variety of different options. You might find out while doing maths that there is careers available to you that you never even imagined. Data Analyst, Actuary, Physics, Programer, Statistician, Pure Maths, Teaching to name but a few of the common ones.

Thanks Justin. It seems a subject that many do not want to discuss. There are people with mickey mouse degrees such as Arts just to name one, and people teaching honors maths in Irish secondary schools and getting away with such a crap degree.
People say we are an educated work force, Yes we are with Mickey Mouse Degrees.
