    hi folks,

can i get opinions on this please.

i just purchased a 50" samsung last week.(50ES6300) as a house warming gift for someone else, so i cant readily check what the settings are etc, but they're out of the box default settings if that helps. i think the backlight was up fairly high, but not sure if thats what this is. If anyone else has one of these sets could they comment on this also maybe.

When the image was taking up the full screen, like normal tv or 16:9 films, the picture was pretty amazing, to me anyway, with no visible problems, but in very dark scenes or letterboxed (and dark as here) the corners seemed bright. Again it wasnt overly distracting but it was noticible.

The largest tv i've had a chance to play around with before this was a 32" which is why i'm asking what ye think.
As i said i wont get a chance to go playing with settings for at least a week at the soonest which could make this drawn out but i'd appreciate any/all input. Is this standard for such a set or worse than normal.

    Thanks,
    Ed
