He's a construct of the neo-liberal elite who are poisoning our minds with subliminal messages through his grumpy stare.

So it's us who are being exploited not Mr. Grumpy-Wumpy-kins... ahh look at him there, isn't he cute? Who's a little grumpy boots? You are! That's who! You're the grumpiest ickle cutey pie in the whole world aren't you? Yes you are. Yes you are! YES YOU ARE!!!!!

TAKE THE COMPLIMENT YOU F*CKING CAT!!!!!

    Yes he is.

But on the exploitation scale with 1 being a pampered house cat, and 10 being a child slave in Cote d'Ivoire harvesting cocoa for western chocolate manufacturers, working 16 hours a day after being bought from your impoverished parents, I don't think his welfare should occupy too much of our time or concern.

His heath is his owners wealth after all.

It's kind of icky that they called her Tard. :(

What's wrong with her that she can't walk properly?

Was just thinking that. Although not using the word "icky"

Found it. Apparently she has feline dwarfism.

I think she's gorgeous. So long as she's well looked after and happy then I don't see the problem.

    Apparently she's called Tarder Sauce.

    Apparently she's called Tarder Sauce.

I'd say she was called that so the owners could call her 'Tard and say its just her name shortened if anyone pulled them up on it. Obvious, and tasteless.

She's adorable looking, I dont see how she's being exploited, she became an internet phenomenon, her owners clearly care for her and people love her

    She is adorable.

However, there's a new kid on the block. A possible usurper.

    Meet Cat With Eyebrows.

He doesn't look grumpy, but he definitely looks worried.

Tard is French for late, the "d" is silent though. An animal with a wonky leg is likely to "être en retard" (to be late) for many things. Perhaps this was where the original inspiration for the name came from.

indeed, whoever called kitty that was probably pyschologicaly projecting.
the general public of america havent got a clue on the history and connotations of disability slurs they use,and its even more insulting to apply it to a cat when that cat is probably more einstein like than those caling it 'tard'.

anyway,as for original point,am actualy surprised on that article-always thought someone photoshopped the cat.
yes they are exploiting him, that cat is being forced into hot, noisy sensory overloading buildings and situations so their humans can get fame by proxy.
taking to the odd show is fine on the moral meter, but doing what they are doing is abusing the cats natural behavior by not letting him live as he was naturaly designed to do.
sorry but in own view anyway what they are doing isnt right, they shoud go on the xfactor if they want attention for a skill of theirs instead of using the cat-he is not a tool of theirs to use he is a being.
or perhaps they can get into page three modeling and post their interest in the industry on here; am sure itll get them a lot of attention.

and 'tard is of course american for retard. Just the ' is silent but man that cat looks pissed off

I'm feelin kinda cat right now, and I'd hate that tbh. Is exploitation

I don't think she's being treated badly at all, and that's all that matters.

Her name is Tardar Sauce, which is actually kind of cute. Questionable referring to her as "Tard" though!

Uggie would be really hard to beat :) Him and Eddie from Frasier are my favourite celebrity animals. Jack Russells seem to be the dog du jour!

Grumpy took in a few shows at SXSW while she was there. It didn't end well:

Yeah but we're in desperate need of a cat heroine, look at how much The Aristocats rocked and that was in animation, and before The Great Cat Age Mk II in our internet age . I forget Eddie... yeah that and Lassies.
