    Hi all

Ive recently been looking at 3.5 tonne horse lorries. I've came across one where the seller says the lorry can be down rated to a 3.5. Do any of you have any experience of this or know if it is possible? If it is how do you go about it?

    Thanks

Sounds dodgy. you might be able to get the weight of the lorry down but once you put one horse on board it would be over.
F.e a ford transit box van might weigh 2.8t
so the pay load would be less than 700kg to keep your g.v.w below 3.5t

Agree it sounds dodgy. If a lorry is a 7.5 ton it's very unlikely it would weigh less then 3.5 and even if you did you'd be over as soon as you put horses on board. why woud you want to downgrade the weight?
