Is it a simple case of standing on a ladder and moving the dish until the channels show up?

Check all your connections are ok before you go moving the dish, then check all the bolts holding the dish are tight.
Remember that if you need to move the dish, slow & steady is the rule,it may only need to be moved a matter of centimetres to get it back into alignment.
If you can get a loan of a signal meter it'd be a big help, even one of those cheap yokes that come with Lidl satellite kits might get you out of a hole.

Yeah,,it's not that simple at all really..

Even a few mm's out on the dish down here,,and you'd be missing the satellite itself by a long margin..You really would need some sort of meter.

The other thing about doing it by just moving the dish is that even if/when you do find the satellite,it takes a few seconds for the channels to show up,,,so you might think there's nothing there,,and you'd move to dish again.

Plenty cheapish meters out there, and you get what you pay for,,but they are a start anyway.

Depending on the age of the dish if it's heavily corroded the bolts may snap or dish bend when you try to move it, could be easier to just replace the dish, looking at around €50 for a new one including lnb.

It's a new dish, just over a year old. Will look into getting a signal meter, anyone have a link for one? Cheers.

TvTrade or even Amazon,if any of your friends or family bought a Lidl sat kit, they'll have one as they come with the box & dish, they are very basic but do the trick as all you need is to adjust the dish slightly.
