2000 Nissan Micra, I've had issues with my car starting when it has been damp out. I don't know much about cars but my dad thinks it is the spark plug cables causing the problem. It's not a constant issue but once every two months or so, just wondering would it cost much to replace? Where could I get them and is it an easy DIY job that my dad could do for me? thanks

I'm trying to think if that has individual coils or plug leads and distributor cap. If you can see plug leads on the engine then you could purchase them at any motor factors.
They are easy to replace. Just replace them one at a time . That is to make sure you don't mix them up.

It is an easy job, most motor factors would have them. Just replace 1 lead at a time to ensure correct firing order. But for a cheap quick fix, spray some WD40 / quick start on the leads and connectors, this will help keep moisture off them and reduce the chances of having problems.

If the leads were the problem then some WD40 would stop the damp getting in a solve the problem. Do you get misfireing issues when the car does start?

If not then I doubt very much that the leads are your problem.
