Log book changed?

Did I hear correctly that the log book, that the instructor signs after each lesson, is being phased out?
I heard its basically useless now and the instructor is meant to just go to the website and fill in each lesson review there, rendering the log book obsolete.

    Is this true?

    Hi,

    Partly true

    From 1st Feb
Driver Testers will no longer be checking Learners EDT logbooks - for Category B driving tests. From that date, it will not be necessary for ADI’s to Stamp, or sign, the blue Lesson Certification pages at the rear of the EDT logbook. Future versions of the EDT logbook will no longer contain those lesson Certification pages.

However that is the only change, the log book remains and should be completed by the ADI/sponsor/pupil in their appropriate sections as usual.

It is now even more important that the ADI completes their pupils records online promptly after each lesson

Each pupil should check their My EDT to ensure this is done.

    OK thanks.

So should I be worried that I'm 8 lessons in and still don't have a login for that site?

    Hi

Have you gone to My EDT Training Records - and filled in the form ?

    Which form?

I put in my name, DOB and Driver number from my provisional licence, and it tells me that I have no account, so I can't logon.

    Hi,

Have you entered your details exactly as per your LP.

If you have then you should contact your driving instructor immediately.

If you get no satisfactory explanation contact the RSA. But would definitely not take any further lessons until you are credited with the eight already taken.

He is listed on the RSA website RSA - ADI ??

If not, contact the RSA and Garda, See:- Report an Instructor

Perhaps a learner driver who uses the portal would advise if they found any special quirk in signing in for the first time.

I went to the above link again to try login. I used the exact details that are on my LP and it said:

There are some problems with the information you provided
Driver does not exist on NVDF

I did the first 6 lessons with a company, but i've since moved to another company and i've gotten a couple of lessons off these. Can they set me up with an account?

Also, I don't know the first instructors last name. Can I search by Company on that site?

EDIT: I just found him on the RSA site there, using his first name and mobile number. He's down under a different company name. At least he's registered anyway!!

DOUBLE EDIT: Ye I can login. The picture on the right seems to indicate it wants the big red number. Thats what I was putting in. Its actually the number above that, which works.
    Cheers.

Has the first ADI uploaded your six lessons ?. If not, contact him and ask him to do so ASAP. Any problems, contact the RSA have them sort him out.

With the six lessons recorded request the 2nd ADI to upload details of his two lessons.

    Hi,

Ye, everything is hunky dory with the first 6 lessons. I'll be out again this week or next with the new guy so i'll get him to update it.

    Cheers.
