DIY greenhouse questions

I've been thinking of building a greenhouse to go with my veg plot. It's on an open and rather exposed site, so I was thinking of using polycarbonate.

I don't know a lot about PC, I've read some bits and pieces. Are there types of PC to be avoided for building a greenhouse?

Initially I had been thinking of building a solid wall on the long North facing side, then two PC sides and a PC front. Is the North wall idea madness? Someone tell me it is - if it is. Would an all over PC outer on a wooden frame be better for the veg inside, and cost wise? I don't have easy access to the site for heavy work.

Tomatoes are about the only thing I've thought about putting in it at the moment :o:o:o:o:o

I think there's a type of polycarbonate that's specially designed to diffuse light. Also the better quality polycarb will be thicker, but unless you're planning to heat the greenhouse I doubt that will be an issue.
