The Curragh Camp is NPWS protected, and hunting, trapping or stalking is prohibited, & apart from been patrolled by the NPWS os patrolled by the military police, so I wouldnt recomend trapping on that facility.

There ain't many Grey's in Westmeath at all. Haven't seen one in years! Obviously it's a different story in different parts of the country!

    Hi All,

I know that this is a bit of a long shot. I am currently researching grey squirrels in Ireland and I am looking for information on Mullaghmeen Forest on the Westmeath/Meath border. Apparently somebody was employed by Coillte for controlling grey squirrels in this woodland in the 1990s. I have obviously contacted Coillte but they don't have any information! Does anybody happen to know of this or even better know the person that may have been involved in this work. If you do have any information, please send me a DM.

    Thanks,

    M

Never eaten one. I wouldn't mind trying it
I meant that I'd use them to feed my hawk and ferrets
