Stanley range mixture adjustment

    Hi,
I have a Stanley oil (kerosene) burning range. I adjusted the mixture nozzle on the pump by mistake when bleeding it. It now seems to be using more oil. I have since tightened the mixture nozzle and the flame has got brighter but I'm not sure how to hit that optimum sweet spot. Is there a standard method to adjust the mixture or do you need special equipment.

    Regards
