    Hi all,

I have a 2007 Lexus Is250 at the moment but it's costing me a lot to fuel and tax so I want to change to something more fuel efficient. I have a budget of €23000 and it has to be a diesel saloon.

would have thought this was a prime candidate for lpg conversion, what size engine does your current car have and how much are you putting in per week?

We have a Renault Fluence 1.5 dci for nearly two years, no complaints at all

It's a 2.5l petrol so fuel and tax are huge.

    I don't think i'd like a fleunce after a lexus, what are laguna's like.

    What are these like?

yeah i know all about it, I have a 2.5L myself. your bang on about going from a lexus to a nissan, renault etc... If you have to borrow the money, bear in the cost of finance aswell. In addition, you have to ask, what tax will the new car be, Im assuming E270 and up for what your looking at. also is it mostly or all town driving that you do?

They're just a slightly bigger Fluence which are a nasty boring car. I'd go with 520d or an Accord. I dont think I'd even consider anything else.

OP, is your only reason for changing to save money on motor tax and fuel or are you changing anyway and now you want something with lower running costs due to doing 30k km per year?

If the only reason you are changing is to save money on tax and fuel then spending €23k to do so kind of defeats the purpose. If you are changing anyway then at that annual mileage a diesel makes sense but be prepared to be shafted on the trade-in price of your IS250.

    Maybe something like these.

The cost of a new car... €23000... The cost of changing your boards.ie username:

    PRICELESS.
