Firefox freezing!!

    Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can help me..
    I have a Acer Extensa5220.. on Windows Xp. Everytime I load Firefox browser loading, but if I try and go into Facebook, the screen freezing! and Firefox not responding!! I have tried also to restore the laptop several times! and it will not restore, I have disabled my anti virus, but no effect! I then scanned the whole computer using my Avast Antivirus. No threats were found. I dont know what the problem is?? any advice please.. Oh forgot to also say, I have tried to remove Firefox but it will not allow me to remove it either!! thanks for reading:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Ive been having the same problems with Firefox for the last week, im on XP too.

    Hi Fuh.. thanks for that, maybe its just not my laptop then!! maybe something wrong with Firefox?? have you tried to remove Firefox, and reload it??

    *Download Fx freshly from here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
    *Keep Fx closed and uninstall it Start>Run>type: appwiz.cpl and hit Enter.
    *Then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and delete that folder.
    *Now reboot your system. Upon restart reinstall it from the download version.

    Then once again fire it up and see how it goes.

    Ups, that's the latest version. Did You try uninstall it, already?

    Hi there, funny thing is,, I typed in appwiz.cpl.. and the version there is showing 17.0.1.. when I hit remove it just flashes but will not let me remove it!! confused!!:rolleyes:

    Download http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner or http://www.revouninstaller.com/ and try remove Fx.

    Hi yeah, have tried to unistall.. but same thing, just flashes on the screen.. but nothing else! never had that before. :rolleyes:

    Hi again,, Aggghhh think Im going to throw this through the window!! I managed to remove Firefox with Revounistaller.. and downloaded version 19.02.. rebooted, logged back on.. went into Facebook, and within 3mins.. froze!! not responding.. only thing I notice is saying its transfering data fbstatic-a.akamaidh.net!! in left hand corner. I am not IT woman, tried cant think of anything else. thanks for your help! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    No, I have not tried yet, have you tried to reset Firefox ? Extensions and themes can cause the problem.

    Click the Firefox button, then the Help button, click Troubleshooting Information and then click Reset Firefox.

    Yippee.. I have sorted it... went threw the plugins, ext,, ect.. and disabled the one for Facebook.. and its working again.. ;) Thanks for help guys.. really appreciate it. nite nite.. :D
