You're probably better off ringing your local motor tax office or going over to them but if you provide a proof of new address (bill, bank statement etc) I can't imagine it being a problem...

I went through the same thing.
When applying for the new licence but down your current (new) address.
To be double sure I included a little note outlining the reason for different address and also included a photocopy of a utility bill (prob a bit overkill)

Called up the tax office a while later who siad it was all good - the licence will be issued to whatever address is on the application form.
But of a relief to hear that - with the current back log on issuing the licences that last thing I wanted was complications with address.
    You should be ok though.,

All you have to do now is kick back and wait 2-3 months for the licence to arrive in the post :-)

I am coming up to week number 5 waiting which is probably with the expected time frame

She said 4-6 weeks what a joke of a country we live in with this level of incompetence from the public sector:eek:

I know it's a bit annoying alright but all you can do is wait and hopfully it arrives sooner than planned.

The Dublin tax office has the longest waiting list but other counties are a bit faster.
