    Funnily enough this is analogous to some of the stuff proposed in SOPA/PIPA and not just for digital stuff either a part of SOPA/PIPA would have made it impossible for you to say for example repair a car using parts from China so for example you had to replace the headlight housing you would be unable to buy/import a part that would do the job for lets say 10€ from China because you would be forced to use only the 'Official' part from Volkswage/Ford etc for 50€.

    And no it hasn't really been defeated or gone away it has just been rolled into the TTP and TTIP where the MPRAA and other 'stake holders' we given carte blanche to give themselves whatever rights they wanted.
