What sort of yield if any can be expected on ground to be re-seeded this spring???
In terms of round bales per acre later on in the year. When might I get a cut??
I will be discussing in detail with my advisor soon just want to have a few ball park figures in my head from anyone who recently has experience of it.
This will be silage ground no grazing.

It would benefit from grazing the first year to encourage tillering.

Definately worth grazing it the first year. If you do cut off it you would be better off cutting it an early stage thus less bales.

Consider undersowing about 3-4 stone of barley to the acre. Do not get wrapped up in bales/acre. If you reseed in april it will be mid july before it is fit to harvest. Undersown to barley will give 10-12 bales/acre depending on wilt. Going for too heavy a crop will cause sward not to tiller. Cut barley/grass when barley is at the milky stage about 12-14 weeks.
