    Hi.

I use my Garmin daily for delivery work .

I was hoping you can help me with an issue.

When ever I turn off the ignition the garmin only give me 30 seconds before power off.

Can this function be turned off so it stays on . Also I cant seem to get the maps to show me more detail. Say if I need to find what the nearest town or village is from where I am, I have to zoom out. Which is a bit useless if you dont know where you are. Place names dont really show till you are there. Even after zooming out.

I end up just using google map on my phone(which seems to be light years ahead as far as mapping goes).

    Can these issues be adjusted

Not that familiar with the unit but regarding the power off issue:
This is standard on TomTom nav 3 devices, but you are offered a cancel option prior to power down.
Usually search near you is more relevant to POIs etc rather than towns .

The 30 second power off feature can't be changed. On my Garmin I can slide the power switch all the way to the right which locks the screen and dramatically dims the screen which reduces the power consumption.

In addition I have an option in
Settings > Map > Map Detail where I set the amount of detail shown when zoomed out (There are five levels)
