Charcoal suit / white shirt :

Burnt orange tie (with small white pokka dots)

    Thoughts?

I'd orignally planned to go with a charcoal tie, but i was afraid it was just a bit meh.

    What is the occasion?

    Wedding.

I think larger polka dots look tacky but smaller subtle ones are fine. A burnt orange leaning on the darker side is good too imo.

    The dots are really small.

    Sounds like a nice combo

Tried it on with the suit last night. It looks as well as i'd hoped it would :)

Pocket square or not, that is the question.

As long as it's not some obnoxiously bright colour or pattern and it isn't sticking up a mile then I think it will be a nice touch.

Well with an orange tie and white shirt, i could only really do a white or orange square.

I had a look on the sartorialist. A lot of the men have pocket squares. Not necessarily matching. I like them anyway.

Oh i've worn them before, to friends weddings.

But this a family wedding from the OH's side, and i'll know only her closest family, so i am worried about looking a tad prickish ie 'who does your man think he is with his pocket tie, James Bond?' etc etc :D

Last family wedding my OH wore a three piece suit with pocket square, polka dot tie and a mustache :D Go for it!

Try the white square, and if it doesn't look great go for the orange. Alternatively, try the colour of the dots on the tie?

Not enough time to grow a mustache !
I personally dont like three piece suits. Waistcoats are very oldman ish.
But im sure he looked great.

The polka dots on the tie are white, so i've only really got the choice of white and orange.

I like three piece suits too! especially tweed ones.

I think the white pocket square might be better, but only you can tell when you put it all together really OP.

No harm in a pocket square, wouldn't wear a tie clip though!

I was going to wear a tie clip

Think the two of them together is a bit much
