Hey i've seen a few threads in the past slagging off people who have done absolutely stingy things! Today I did a really stingy thing and I'm not proud of myself. Thought i'd post a new thread for those times when you've done something really stingy you wouldnt be proud to share with your friends/family.

I am cooking chicken for dinner it has to be used today, and realised ive no tinfoil to cover it. (Keep in mind I live a fair distance from the shops). I took the used tinfoil from the bottom of the grillpan and soaked all the dirt off it and dried it off. I am now using that over the chicken.

    My ma would kill me.

    That's resourceful.

Resourcefulness is a good quality - stinginess isn't.

That's not resourcefulness, that's stinginess and incredibly bad hygiene. Then again, I've never known a stingy person with good hygiene skills.

That isn't stingy. It's not like you're too tight to buy tinfoil, you're just too lazy. I'd have done the same thing son, well done.

I know you're a bloke by the way coz a woman would never do that.

Haha how did you manage that?

F**k it, old people are just wasting oxygen. They should all be put down when they reach 65.

Ah now, that's a little harsh, my dad is reaching sixty :(

I once went into a bookshop and looked up the definition of stingy in a dictionary without buying it.

My parents are in their 70s and I tell them all the time.

My mother is/was also really stingy and proud. I'm asthmatic and when I was younger she'd buy Maxwell House but wouldn't give me any because "Coffee was bad for my asthma". Anything that was expensive always seemed to be bad for my asthma. :D

OP that's not being stingy it's being lazy (and a bit gross).

Nah I was only messing, I would never do something like that. That's a bit extreme you do realize you will be put down as you put it eventually.

I steal toilet roll from the toilets at Uni.

I'm a student and toilet roll's ridiculously expensive for something you wipe your arse with.
I've also bought quite a few clothes off ebay recently, I really can't afford to care anymore.

Na, planning on dying in a blaze of glory at 60. Don't want to live long enough to own a pair of incontinence pants.

Ah yeah so many times in college you'd go to someone's house and they'd have the huge commercial toilet sized rolls in their jacks!

So many broken toilet-roll holders in college!

    Good point.

Here's something I never understood - scented toilet roll. Is there a more pointless product in the entire world? Only a woman would buy it.

99cent Dunnes 'Sandpaper Your Arse' version for me.

I've done stuff like that before.

    I'm unbelievably lazy.

Oh to have a young person's arse so I could make do with crappy toilet paper again!

Saw a thread like this before actually, and read that a woman used to clean her babies nappies (normal, shop bought ones), and reuse them if they weren't too soiled. What a cruel cruel woman.

But you pissed yourself at age two, why would it bother you at 85?

It's not stingy to do stuff like that when you're a student, that's part of what being a student is all about.

Casual theft of toiletries and condiments, lining up at the bank to take 4 quid out of your account, knowing what day Tesco gives out free samples so you can get a free lunch, all valuable life experiences.

Most of those things are not stingy, not stingy at all! People dont know the difference between thriftyness and stingyness anymore!

    Let me explain:
    1. Tolls are for people who dont want to be stuck in traffic. They pay to avoid it. If that doesn't concern you, then why the fluck would you pay to travel on a congestion-free road?
    2. I would actually pay extra to AVOID the nightlink on most nights out, so kudos to ya for saving a few quid aswell!
    3. If you buy food, it belongs to you, and by rights you can use it whenever or wherever you like. Cinemas are the ones being stingy by charging rip-off prices for their snacks, and then insisting that you only eat theirs. Fcuk them.
    4. The TV one, well yea, thats fairly stingy.
    5. Betcha you didn't know they were horse burgers till recently, so you're excused on that one.
    6. Friends, or lack of them, usually has no correlation with how stingy a person is.
    7. Having your own weights is NOT stingy! Would you consider going for a jog on the road stingy because you didnt pay to use a threadmill? No way! Now, if you had borrowed these weights from a friend, and never gave them back, THAT would be stingy.
