    Hi,

    I have a song with the following Chord sequence: A, Em, A6, A, D, B/D#, A, F#, B7, E7... Etc

What would be the appropriate mode to play over this?

  • You'll have to change between modes. The simplest thing you could do, in my opinion, would be something like this:

    A, Em, A6, A - A Mixolydian. Also E Dorian.
    D - D Major
    B/D# - B Mixolydian
    A, F# - A Mixolydian
    B7, E7 - E Major

You could do more than that and it starts getting complicated.

  • Thanks. That's a great help.

    D - D Major
    B/D# - B Mixolydian
    A, F# - A Mixolydian
    B7, E7 - E Major

Just to note. These modes ignore the A# of the F# chord and the D of the E7 chord.
