    Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before but i recently got an Apple TV. Happy days i thought, plug in and off we go. Anyway got the airplay working, happy days but home sharing just wont work. I have a vodafone router and Apple TV connects to the internet fine, its just home sharing. Could it possibly be my wireless security settings? Has anyone had issues like this before?

    thanks

Ensure home sharing is enabled on both apple tv and itunes.

Thanks. Yeah its enabled on both, same user but can never find itunes.

Plan is to turn off password to wireless network later and see if it is security related

I had the same problem with mine when I was with Eircom - from doing a bit of research there appears to be an issue with Eircom modems and home sharing. Not sure if a similar issue with Vodafone

I ended up buying an iTunes match subscription instead and can now stream my library on the Apple tv from the cloud..

Are you using the Vodafone modem / router? If so I had the same problem. I got on to Vodafone but they couldn't help me so just went back to my old BT router which worked no problem. It's definitely a problem with that Vodafone router.

I have the same problem with my 3 router, The only thing you can do is change the router
    or bare with it.
