Im presuming that its a bad photo and it should be white if so an idea would be to buy a length of soffet it will give the same effect but very clean and just run a thin bead of silacone along to finish

some ply board and a nice tile, should not cost much, pvc panel, MDF panel, if you really want to go for it, marble panel,

and I am sure it is possible it could be an ivory bath, they did make them with more than one color.

Dont worry about the bath, it looks like a cast iron bath which today could set you back up on 800 quid to buy and more, you have the right idea, a bit of DIY can make a big difference, myself I would be going with, removing what you have at the moment on the side of the bath and putting in a piece of treated ply,

most places will cut it to size, so you should be able to fix it to the framing that is there at the moment,

and then a nice mosaic tile on top to finish it off, you could do this yourself and I do not think it would cost alot,

going to a tile store with a mosaic tile at the end of stock, you could pick it up for very little money, also you could get a cut off of ply, this could be fitted in 3-4 pieces if needed, once it is well secured (screwed) to the frame,

people just do not realize how nice a job you can do for little money if you pouch out the materials needed, I have done this many times,

sometimes shops, builders yards, are happy to get rid of damaged or end of stock,

I could kit your whole bathroom out for a fraction of the cost, getting materials slightly damaged or end of stock,

and it would look like the bees knees.

Yea tiled panels do look good. Just make sure it's removable for work under the bath at a later stage.

Tile the bath panel in mosaic tiles....and leave an access hatch for access to under bath plumbing/piping.:)

You can use 1/5 inch/15mm WPB Plywood for the bath panel and for tiling onto. When tiling and grout is all set and dry, then apply a liquid sealer to the mosaic tiles.

This is not really a problem, you could go down the road of aqua pannel, but even if you did not, looking at your skirting beside the sink, the floor has moved alot (moved away from the skirting) , I would be guessing that water has been leaking into (or onto the floor) over a long preiod of time,

now we are looking at the floor being supported, raising the joist, and finding out what is leaking, I would be guessing there is a small pipe leak, which over time has now shown itself, (just a guess, what says you Paddy).

Water naturally flows one way and that downwards...so that slant is going to have water flowing down it and in under the floor boards/bath panel.

The floor and that slant/gap will deffo need to be sorted out, before it gets any worse...which it will.....over time.

this is not a wooden floor its a concrete floor
what u see in the photo is Lino that has that wooden effect

in that area there is normally a bow lof water left there for the Cat also there is a glass panel fold door that sometimes if it is not closed right the water can get through running down the glass on to the Bath edge ,

i dont believe there is any pipe leaking

I hate that wood in a bathroom. Rip it off, panel with WBP & tile.

Recently clad our bath as part of a cheap overhaul.. no issues with it.

The cladding is 'tucked' behind the lip at the top and sealed all around with silicon.

Where is the water coming from? I presume your bath is also a shower? Have you a screen up?

Edit: I see why it turned yellow, I presumed it stained from water damage. Did you seal/prime the stained wood before painting it?

I used under coat then gloss, i think the water may have come from the bath / shower area which ha s a half door across it ,
