    Hi Guys,

The mother would like to go for an Indian this Sunday, for Mother's Day. The Father has recommended the Kingfisher, but he's also heard good things about Mayur as well.

Which restaurant does everyone recommend? Feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Kingfisher is closed months ago. Same owner changes the name and tried to run it as a different restaurant. That has since closed also.
    Mayur is best bet.

I always preferred the Mayur over Kingfisher!theres also Indian Prince up in Kilminchy but tbh Mayur is your best bet

    Thanks for the feedback.

It's been quite a few years since I was in the Kingfisher, so I can't really comment. I've also been parousing the various different rating sites online and opinions seem to be divided, even in up-to-date reviews.

I don't mean to be smart here Phoenix, but do you mind me asking why? Is it the quality of the food? The Service? The amount of food you get? I just want to get a feel for why people prefer one place over the other.

IMO the food was tastier, portion size was good and service good too

Oh right, I hadn't realised! Well that certainly narrows the choices down slightly!

Thanks for the feedback once again Phoenix. Hadn't seen Bicky's message.

Mayur wins every time. I wouldn't even sully their name by mentioning them in the same sentence as Kingfisher, (or bukhara as they're now known)
Indian prince do decent takeout but can't comment on the sit-down experience as I haven't been in for a meal.
Ps- if going to mayur get the mixed platter as a starter. Proper food porn.

Haha. Didnt realise kingfisher (even under another name) was still open. In any case ive already booked mayur for sunday. Ive heard a lot of positive things the Indian Prince, but i haven't managed to find much in the way of sit-in reviews. Of the reviews i could find they said it wa mostly quiet but pleasant. We always get a mixed platter to start. Already looking forward to it!

    Thanks for the feedback.

No more cans of cock or battered aborigines? Gutted, they had the most hilarious take-away menu ever.
