Is anyone familiar much with the "TU Me" app that is now being promoted on the 48months.ie site ?

I am confused about this because I understood "Tu Me" is just another calling/texting app like Viber and WhatsApp ..... but 48 are quoting it as an add on for €3pm.....

I have Viber and use it a lot - lots of people I have in my contacts use it. WhatsApp seems to have fewer using it on my list.

Can anyone illuminate me more on these apps and the "TU Me" question ?

I assume for €3 it doesn't come out of your data allowance.

    Ooops ... misread it. :D
Yes you're correct it's basically very similar to WhatsApp and Viber.

It allows you to call/text/send location/pictures/voice messages to other people who also have the app.
Then why is it necessary to pay 48 for it's use ? and yet not pay for Viber ?
I find it annoying enough having people mixed between iMessage, Viber and Whatsapp so don't think I'll be using another similar service anytime soon. I wish one app would really take off and have most of my contacts using it.
True. But if there was only one app we would never get any new ideas, new innovation etc. I have all three on my iPhone 5 now .. I don't worry about it, whoever messages/calls me on whatever one I have no problem with.
My choice to call/message out is Viber ... only because it has the bigger proportion of my contacts on it.

Tu Me is owned by Telefonica. That's why their promoting it. It's their attempt at taking on Skype. Charging for it is just plain crazy.
