Grad Programmes CAO/UCAS Points

    Hi there,

    I am job hunting at the moment, particularly for grad programmes in the financial/commercial sector.

    A lot of the grad roles in the UK require you to have 300 or 320 UCAS points. When I convert my 6 Leaving Cert subjects to UCAS points I total 291 UCAS points. If I include my 7th subject I total 321 UCAS. So in essence do the companies want you to include 6 or 7 subjects? I know Citi for example ask for 320 from 6 subjects. I have contacted some companies via social media who just refer me to UCAS.

    It's extremely pissing off that they even ask for LC results, the work I put into my degree does not compare to the work I put into my LC.:mad:

    I always used 6 when applying to UK internships/graduate programmes but there was never really any guidance for how many to put down. I just assumed since it was converting CAO points to use 6. You could risk putting down 7. I'm not sure how well claiming ignorance would go down if you were pulled up on it later though.

    I would put down for everything you did. Under the UK system you don't even have to do them in the same year.
    You could have 3Ds from 1998 and another 3 Cs from 2008 and it would entitle you to 320 points. If they don't ask for the top 3 subjects just tell them what you have.
