Renewing Tax online- no postal notification

Just a quick note. If you renewed tax online last year you won't get anything in the post this year. I used the online tax service last year. I didn't get any postal notification this year as a result. I got an email reminder but that's assuming you either still have the email address from last year or you look at it regularly.

I know some people rely on the letter in the door to remind them so just letting you all know :)

 We have three cars here, we've taxed them online for years and we always get reminders through the post.

Don't forget you also have a reminder stuck on your windscreen. :P

I've just got the renewal for my bike in the post and I've never taxed in anywhere else than online. But I never give them my email address.

    I'm aware of that;)

This is the wording of the email from the tax office email- I'm just letting people know what I received. :)

This is your motor tax reminder. Please retain as you will not receive a renewal notice in the post.

My OH got the same email this week, thought it might be something she 'opted in' to do.

It may well have been mb1725. I don't remember opting in/out myself but obviously something triggered the non postal method now.

I got it too on Monday, first time being emailed by them with the pin in the email, so no need for the paper form to be posted out anymore.

Yep got the same on Monday. I opted in for future correspondence to be done by email. Gives a reminder in it too that my NCT is due.

No postal notification here either and couldn't find an e-mail from them so I went to their homepage www.motortax.ie and went to the 'Pin Retrival' link on the left side of the page and renewed it online from there.
