gloss flooring

    Hi i am putting high gloss laminated flooring in my sitting room and would like any advice on whether it will scratch easily or not

    Unless u get a cast iron guarantee from the retailer and manufacturer Im sure it will scratch. Its a plastic manufactured surface glued to an mdf backing board. A stone on a shoe, a heal of a stilleto etc etc etc is harder than plastic so of course it will scratch.

    That said, it will most likely be far more durable than its more expensive partners, semi-solid or solid wood flooring.

    I was told by a supplier that most of the high gloss ( unless expensive) was more prone to obsorbing water than a standard laminate, causing the finish to bubble if liquid was left on it, say overnight, could be BS but he was trying to sell me the floor at the time so I doubt it
