Coral evens on Sprinter as bookie war heightens

CORAL have put themselves in line for a monster payout after offering evens about Sprinter Sacre winning the Sportingbet Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival next Wednesday.

Coral's offer is the latest in the increasingly manic attempts by bookmakers to attract festival custom with last year's Racing Post Arkle winner generally 1-4 favourite for the Champion Chase.

Spokesman Simon Clare said the bookmaker expected to enter the race with liabilities of at least £1 million with the Nicky Henderson-trained star unbeaten in seven chases, won by an aggregate of 95 lengths.

The offer is available from 9am on Thursday for all new and existing phone, mobile and internet customers and limited to a £20 stake. The bet is not available in Coral shops.

    Couple of things:

    1. It's £20 max but what do people expect? He's 1.29 on Betfair
    2. At least they're upfront in the fact it's to a token stake while advertising it for once

Before ye all go rushing to open accounts, be warned that they are the single most annoying shower when it comes to looing for ID etc. They want a scan of a passport and a utility bill? A photo wont do. Like who even has a scanner anymore? They will also close you without too much hesitation if you're backing smart

I'm being told 11.91 is the max bet

I got €20 on this morning Colonel. Went back in to see if I could get more on and was told the max was 3.60, so I presume the max was £20 translated to euro. Wasn't bothered depositing again for the sake of 3 euro.

Cheers ill try again. They claim they want to hold it for "days rather than hours" so I'll e-mail em if I've no joy

Yeah Coral have a very annoying secpol if I remember correctly. Worth it though, I find myself having a lot of bets with them, decent prices and haven't limited me much in a couple of months.

There phone app is sh*t. You can't load Fridays prices due to bad design. When you attempt to log into the full site then it doesn't accept your username or password..I backe sprinter sacre this morning but want to back Gevrey chamber tin for the Martin pipe and our Conor but can't see the races...regretting this sign up already!

Got €23 on there. Decent offer. Equivalent to putting over €80 at the real price.

I presume you can't use a laser card? Bit more hassle using moneybookers.

    .

Thanks for that informative & helpful reply....

Looking at their Facebook page they seem to have randomly given different customers different limits.

I've had about 5 bets with them (nothing amazing) and my a/c is down money so in definitely not restricted

    Offer? £20. Joke.

Back £20 at evens you get £40 back
    lay £20 at 1.4 you lose £28
No risk profit if he wins is £12

You would have to risk £30 of your own money on to get the same return.

Millionaires need not apply but will but a drink after the race. That how I see it anyhow.

It's even money about a horse who's 1.38 on Betfair

They were hardly going to let you have more than a token amount on.

20e max what a load of bull.Is he the cert everyone thinks???You can all slag me after the race but I think he will fall.My reason for this is he has never met the quality of Sizing Europe before and will be going a stride faster than he has ever gone and throw into the mix the late entry of Mail de Brieve who will be going at some speed up front. If Corals would take a bet at 1/1 I would back him but not at long odds on.No matter what people say he is no Moscow Flyer yet.

The hole in your argument is that he jumps even better when going faster, as shown in the tingle creek. Also look here, when he upped the pace in the Arkle. Al Ferof couldn't hack it, whereas SS put in one of the best jumps ive ever seen.

    2.20

Coral are giving away money and people are calling them a joke. Enough already ffs. He's a 1/4 shot. It's tiring listening to people talk bollocks about that's offer. Do you expect them to let people have whatever they want on him at evens.

Also, I think you'll find Sprinter Sacre won't be going a stride faster than he wants to. Sizing Europe couldn't beat Finians last year and now he's a year older. He won't be pushing anything

I expected a reaction about my post but there is no hole until after the race.In the video clip where is Sizing Europe or the front running Mail De Brieve.Im long enough around to know that my post could be total bollocks,BUT.

Do you think Sizing Europe or Mail De Brieve will be going any faster than Sanctuaire was when he went scorching off in the Tingle Creek?

How so do you realise the amount of people going to back it. The bet's a token bet they don't want to go bankrupt.
