Wisdom Tooth

Hi, I have a wisdom tooth coming up on my lower gum, I can see the top of it pushing through my gum.

It's very painful and I've taken some paracetamol but it doesn't work, what's the most effective thing I can take to get rid of the pain. The entire left side of my face is throbbing and has been for hours now! It's also hard to swallow.

Does the pain go away after a while or should I see a dentist about getting it extracted? The last time I was there he told me there was plenty of room for any wisdom teeth that would come up.

    Thanks in advance :)

I've had my wisdoms pushing through for the last while,
I've never experianced actual pain from them however
Just a niggling soreness and a feeling similar to a sore
throat which normally subsides after a few days.

If you truely are feeling unbearable pain you
should go and see your dentist ASAP. If it's bearable I'd hold
off for a few days, but if you're still in pain after that go and
see your dentist. A lot of people need to get their wisdoms removed
it's bread and butter for dentists.

In regards to painkillers. I'm not much of a painkiller hog
myself paracetemol usually does me however My sisters prefer
    Solpadeine and ibuprofen though.

    Thanks for the reply

I think I'll leave it tomorrow and see how it is. If it's still painful tomorrow I'll see a dentist. I'm going to go get some clove oil, apparently that helps for the inflammation and pain.

I've had the right lower wisdom tooth pushing up for a bout a year now, but it's never been painful at all, that's why I was slightly worried when it became painful on the other side

How old are you op? These teeth usually come in around the age of 18-21. If you are older than that then most likely it will not come in fully, remain partially erupted, cause problems and need removal.
If you are younger than that and there is room for eruption and the angle of the tooth is favourable for eruption then yes probably best to allow it to come.

    Get it checked out....
