    Hey folks,

I've just recently purchased a brand new road bike (worth over a grand) and am curious what experienced riders do when they need to go to the bathroom whilst out on a spin. I'm not with a club and I would be fiercely paranoid about leaving it parked somewhere while I pop into a cafe to go to the bathroom. It just isn't an option......

One reason to join a club I suppose, though I'm rather intimidated by all websites-even though I am an experienced city cyclist and am fit.

So 2 things- toilet issue? I'm sooooo curious!!
    - clubs for newbies Dublin 8 or around.

Cannot wait for my first proper spin. Woo!
    Thanks,
    SimonSays

    But you have a bike.

Thinkbike meet in Rathmines. Probably the nearest.

Go before you leave, drink lots, sweat it out, no need to pee.
Failing that stop for a coffee somewhere and use their facilities.

I've gone on spins over 6hours duration and although yes I probably could've stopped, I never felt the real need to you know :o

You'd have loved the cycle I done last year around the Clare Peninsula right - the Lads had and have it fair handy in all honesty, no denying that! On that spin the ladies thought lets wait until we reach the light-house and use the facilities then. On arrival we all found their were actually charges for using those facilities, which did NOT go down well with the club and I was shown a letter of complaint that reached a newspaper about it too :)

Anywhoo, some paid, some didn't and had to wait until Kilrush before finding any facilities to use. Jeez don't men have it fair handy eh! :D

ah the joys of being a man and training in rural area mostly

there is an alternative though, especially for winter, you could piss yourself and have a quick 'warming boost' this is advised if its pissing rain and you are already soaked, nothing to lose then...well apart from dignity maybe

I'm sure I've heard of bib shorts that open somehow at the required location. Name escapes me.

...bib shorts that open somehow at the required location...

As in when you reach that point on your spin where you usually stop for a nature break? Could be scary! :pac:

From reading the blog, apparently Gore and Pearl Izumi make such shorts.
I googled and can't see any though.

I think the name of that required location is "the crotch". :pac:

Gore, for one, do women's bib tights where the bib section can be unzipped to allow the lower part of the tights to be pulled down without having to remove your top(s). They also use the same design for women's bib shorts.
