NCT online booking problems?

Anyone else having trouble with it?

I've been trying over several hours, and can only get as far as selecting a date (the orange highlight moves to it). The 'select a time' box has nothing in it except non-functioning (and won't be typed into).

The page says 'available dates are highlighted in green', but I've looked as far as December (the furthest it'll go), and don't see any green highlights. I tried another centre, but if the website was to be believed that one was also booked all year (couldn't do the time box there either).

I don't think it's my settings etc, as the site worked for me last time. Also, I'm sometimes getting an error message there, 'Status code 500 returned from server', which turns out to mean something awry at the website.

Do I embark on an email dialogue with them (meaning more more delays), or is it just a case of 'try again later'?

Doing things by phone is difficult for me at the moment, and my test is overdue (and hence road tax!).

I was looking it up earlier and didn't have any issues, maybe just keep trying. Also I don't understand why your NCT being overdue would have any affect on your road tax? Both are out on mine since end February but taxed it this morning before even going near NCT

You've been trying several hours ?!

Why don't you just ring them? Most centres are booked up till May, so you might not see any slots online.

Sorry swervring - I was confusing it with a non-private vehicle we also have! I'm afraid it might invalidate my insurance though?
Useful to know the site worked for you - must just be my fluctuating broadband speed (and/or busy time of day on the internet). I'll try the site again next job.

Thanks michellie - I should find some avalable dates after May then.
I wasn't trying continuously - just rechecked it a few times!
Why I prefer internet to phone at the moment would be too long a story (& too off-topic) to bore you with.

Getting same 500 errors today, popping up in different parts of the process. NTCS Website is terrible. I dont remember it being this bad the last time I had to schedule my test. To anyone who's answer is "why dont you ring them", my answer is, "I dont want to - I want to book online and I have my reasons"

The website's not working for me this year either, HarcourtGreen (story at http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057144909 ).
Sorry you're having trouble too, but useful to know it's not just me!

I too have people replying 'Why don't you just ring them', even when I've said I want to do it online. I have perfectly good reasons, but setting them out is tedious and off-topic, and doesn't stop some people jumping in to topics they haven't read!
