    Hi,

I often see people on this forum who take a great interest in economics, but may have never studied it, and enjoy getting detailed informative posts from certain posters about the workings of Economic theory and sometimes I also see people asking for a book recommendation to read up on econonomics as a hobby / interest.

Well, I can't recommend it, as I haven't used it yet, but my lecturer has recommended this book that you can register online for free and have full access for 30 days, so those budding pop-economists can go deeper into the theory and learn about specific things of interest.

It covers all key concepts of Macro.

I'd recommend supplementing that with with Steve Keen's Debunking Economics as well, because while Mankiw's book may be a standard introductory text, it is (from what I've read from economists critical of the author) heavily loaded with economic 'orthodoxy', much of which is debunked in the above.

It's probably still a decent introductory text, but you'll pick up a bit of outdated ideology along the way, so good to read critical views of that as well.
