So I get home and my little brother hands me something he found in the driveway saying he thinks it's off my car. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this. Pictures are attached and it says Valeo on it which after a quick google makes me think it is from the car. The car is a 98 Punto

dgt will be here shortly to tell you what it is, when it was made, who made it and what they were smoking while they made it.

On a serious note, is it plastic or metal? Valeo make lots of parts, could be anything. I can confirm that it's probably not an engine though.

Looks metal, possibly looks like the casing from a pump or motor.

Aye it's metal and covered in some sort of white shit

Looks like a part of an auxiliary belt tensioner or similar to me.

can't be off a 98 Punto. Anything that could fall off would have done so years ago.

Valeo have a factory in Tuam.
Might be worth your while to email them.

Possibly an index screw head off the interior manifold but I may have just made that up to sound big.

My guess is that's its the casing for your rotator splint... better get that checked out!

I'm going with this too, a casing off a starter motor.
Valeo make a lotta lotta stuff, not sure what they do in Tuam exactly but you'd be very lucky if they entertained figuring that one out for you. Take it to a mechanic is you best bet really!
