    Quick question.

Where could an unemployed person with zero savings history in credit union/bank be eligible for a loan.

Its a 1000 euro loan (can be paid back in 3-4 months) however a few K worth of paintings and antiques will gladly be used as collateral.

The only place that would give it to you is providence but they go up to 500 I think and charge obscene amounts of interest.

As Peteb2 said a pawnshop would definitely be an option. They're fairly well regulated (there's only a handful left) breretons on capel st and Carthys on Marlborough st. I'd stay away from the likes of cash converters.

Op you really should open a credit union account and build up a small (couple of hundred) in savings with them. They're your best bet for a loan.

Try your local credit union, while most have minimum savings times some will look at an application immediately after opening account as an exceptional case if outside their normal criteria.
