Canyon / Rose / Radon - any others I've missed?

    Hi all,
I've been browsing recently, just daydreaming about an upgrade. I looked at the Canyon Roadlites which led me to the Rose (can't remember model name now) and from there to the Radon R1 4.0 - all seemingly nicely finished Alu-framed goodlooking German bikes with mild race pretensions for €1000. Are there any others I've missed?

Do you have a particular groupset in mind for the bike? I think this will narrow down your search. There are many discussions on here about both Canyon and Rose with thumbs up from many

Try ribble ot planet x and you might get a carbon frame for about the same, if you're not too stuck on alu. Should get a ribble pro evo with Tiagra for about that i'd say.

Unfortunately not! I pootle about on my Sora-equipped 1.2 at the moment, and haven't tried any others so I'm pretty sure that anything 105 or Apex-ish level is going to feel slick by comparison.
I've read comparisons but they pretty much all boil down to the fact that if you're used to Shimano shifting then SRAM will feel odd and vice-versa ntil you get used to it.
(For some reason I reckon Campag gears would really only be happy on an Italian bike and they're mostly out of my league :))

Again, I'm not stuck on anything at the mo. I have read a few comments about it being better to have a high-end alu frame than a low-end carbon one, and also suggestions that it would be more comfortable (which surprised me - I always thought alu would be the buzziest of the 3 main frame material options) so that's where I am in my head at the moment, but I'm always happy to hear opinions!

I won't be proper racing it, I'll be doing the (very) odd triathlon but mostly 2-3hr weekend spins and the odd longer charity cycle or whatever. Long-distance comfort is definitely a factor.

I have a Rose and I love it. I got one of these and (although I'm not the most experienced of cyclists) I think it's the biz.

However, I do also love the look of this Radon and it's got a decent configuration for the money.

Problem was that when I was getting the Rose there was at least a bit of feedback on it, I couldn't find a whole lot of feedback reviews on the Radon that weren't in German.

I don't think you can go much wrong with any of the makes you mentioned. Just find the one you like to look at the most and go for it :D
