Upgrade Win8 32-bit to 64-bit

I upgraded to Windows 8 a little while ago, and for some reason (I can't recall why) I installed the 32-bit version instead of 64-bit. As I have 8GB RAM on my PC, I understand I should really be running a 64-bit OS. Does anyone know of a handy, relatively painless way to upgrade? Do I need to buy another version of Windows? I got the €30(ish) offer at the time.

You need to reinstall using 64bit installation media as there's no upgrade option from 32bit to 64bit. Your product key will work for either 32bit or 64bit.

Yeah I didn't seem to have the option at the time. The disc-free upgrade didn't appear to let me

You can reuse your existing Windows 8 licence for a 64-bit install, but you'll need to use Windows Easy Transfer to create a profile & settings migration file before you start the reinstall. Once the install is finished, you run WET again and import the migration file, and that should configure your accounts and settings to what they were prior to the reinstall.
