    Even with rolling road closures he got hit by an oncoming car. Hadn't heard of him to be honest. RIP

    Very sad. Very shocking. Bad weekend for road racing. Another lad in a Masters and Ladies race up North left paralysed from the waist down. :(. Also hit by a car apparently.

    Very sad.RIP.Kinda puts in to perspective the rants we were having last week re field sizes.If a rather irate civilian motorist had to get his way with about 2k to go in the A3 race in Navan last Sunday we could have had similiar outcome.As lennymc says keep safe out there and again RIP to the lad.To the guy in the North who was injured keep the head up and keep holding that wheel.

    RIP Junior Heffernan
    He raced as an international for the Irish Tri squad as a junior and senior. By all accounts a decent road racer and very good climber. Just goes to show how quickly accidents can happen.
    Treasure every moment you have as life is fleeting.
