carbon question

considering my options for bike upgrades, just debating whether to go carbon or not, i keep hearing horror stories of bikes being involved in crashes, falls etc and suffering severe damage to the carbon frames.....just wondring how much punishment carbon frames can withstand, or should i just stick to alluminium.

Most bikes will probably suffer severe damage in a crash.

I wouldn't let it put you off, tales of carbon's frailties are grossly exaggerated for the most part.

carbon is extremely hard but also brittle, aluminium has a much lower risk of puncturing you during a crash

have carbon bike btw, well I mean had, I still have it, but in more pieces was ever intended
