    Hi,

I was made unemployed at the end of January and have been told I can reclaim the income tax paid. I was wondering if that is only for this tax year or if that goes back into the previous tax year?

    Cheers

Would only be for the year in question i would think. so you could reclaim for the tax paid in Janurary 2013 but as you were employed for the full year (assumption) last year i doubt there is anything to claim back. Ask for a p21 Balancing statement for 2012 if you think you might be owed for 2012

Better still ask for p21 for last 4 years

Refers to this tax year only. You need to complete a form p50 and submit to Revenue with your p45. Link below explains.
