My mate bought a new build about 3-4 years ago. Riddled with Pyrite and is now in the process of getting it fixed.
    Make sure to check.

What estate are you looking at?

The older houses there are lovely ,my parents bought one about 13 years ago.
They are selling quite reasonably now too.
\the school is Kilbride or Tyrelstown.
It is a lovely estate, lovely people but very cut off with out driving.

I had friends living in Chapelwood for a few years (renting) and they never had any problems there. They mentioned the public transport wasn't great and they drove everywhere as a result, but as regards antisocial behaviour etc., they didn't experience any of it there. Hope it all works out for you.
Anyone have any ideas why some of the properties in Hollystown appear to have sold so cheaply in 2012? According to this link, some properties were even sold twice in the same year and for a much higher value the second time. http://www.propertypriceregister.ie/Website/npsra/PPR/npsra-ppr.nsf/PPR-By-Date?SearchView&Start=1&SearchMax=0&SearchOrder=4&Query=%5Bdt_execution_date%5D%3E=01/01/2012%20AND%20%5Bdt_execution_date%5D%3C01/01/2013%20AND%20%5Baddress%5D=*hollystown*%20AND%20%5Bdc_county%5D=%22Dublin%22&County=Dublin&Year=2012&StartMonth=&EndMonth=&Address=hollystown

I know of one family whose house and the rest on their block are sinking and they have to fork out thousands to stabalise the foundations. there are cracks appearing everywhere. my advice is buy an old house.
