If anyone could point me in the right direction in so far as where to buy a multi fuel stove for the best price. I'm looking for a 8kw non boiler stove with an external air kit. I got a few quotes for Stanley Tara one for €800 in Dundalk co. Louth.

Is it true that you cannot have a boiler stove with an external air kit? I was told by hickeys outside navan that this was not possible.I'm building an air tight house

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Not hearing great reports about boru. There an Irish company and the way it was put to me was that if you want a boiler stove with ext air kit they will stick one on.

She then said you would have to wonder why none of the other makes eg hunter, charnwood, hunter are doing them.

She seemed to know what she was talking about.

PM sent Paudi04, I've put in a wood only non-boiler stove with external air so far, and I am waiting for a multi-fuel inset/casette boiler stove with external air to become available to finish second fireplace.
A friend supplied me the first one, and won't supply me with the other until a decent option becomes available, but had recommended the one I pm'd you if I was going to go for the non-inset option.

Can I just ask also, when you say best price, do you mean what is the cheapest that you can buy one for, or what would be the best value for money in terms of economy, reliability and longevity?
As always, you get what you pay for

Sorry I was talking value per money.. Not the cheapest but I have a budget to stick to. Thanks for the pm 1100010110. I live in Dundalk so would be willing to travel if it turned out to be a bargain. I know Stanley are reliable, it's just getting the price right from shops. Thanks again

Paudi04... As far as I know UK regulations require external air ventilation for nearly all stoves now (even under 5kw) in new build homes! & would imagine we're not far behind here... so would expect any stove on the market now should have external air option? have tried to attach pdf file & failed :( but maybe this link may help! http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/stove-ventilation.html
