Job hunting tips

I finished college last year and i have been so stuck. I have been told that I don't have enough experience. Even though I had work experience on the course. That's my problem, there is always someone with years of experience applying for the same jobs.

Is there anything I can do, I am so desperate.

I have been asked why I changed career. If this question comes up again, could I give them a non-work related reason? It was always something I had an interest in, I wasn't in a position to go back to college a couple of years ago, so i worked on myself and lost 5 stone in weight, so i would look good for when i did go for it. I lost 5 stone for this job. What else can I do?

I have heard about linked-in? What is linked-in? And how will this help?

Unless it's a physical job, or one where your looks matter, they won't care that you lost five stone, so it's not a great answer if you are asked that question. It should be something like, you always wanted to work in your new field and the opportunity came up for you to move/study for qualifications etc.

What area are you looking for work in? e.g. Finance/IT/Social Care/Media?

If you do a search on here there is plenty of information on linkedin.
