I see Mark Burnett (big producer on US reality shows) and his missus from Touched by An Angel are behind this  and she also stars in it, her face looks ruined by too much plastic surgery

Hmmmm. Wonder if it will include all the murder in the Old Testament, god asking Abraham to sacrifice his son to him, god urging the Jews to massacre various rival tribes, god telling slaves to obey their masters, Lot offering his daughters to a gang of men and then subsequently impregnating them himself.

From the look of the producers I don't think all the bloodthirsty barbarity of the bible will be shown. And kind of ironic that it is being shown on The "History" Channel. ;)

Channel 5 will be showing this in December.

When it airs over here it will be narrated by Robert Powell. (who better)
Channel 5 has announced that when the series airs in December it will be narrated by Robert Powell, who is well known for his roles in in Jesus of Nazareth, The Thirty-Nine Steps (1978), Holby City and The Detectives. The original cut as used by History in the US was narrated by veteran actor Keith David.

Shoulds like an interesting series, showing the progression of Biblical history from a beleaguered tribe to one of the underlying supports of Western Civilisation. Good then to have a sense of prospective.

Been watching the first 15 minutes of this and Abraham sounds like a cross between Jorah Mormont (GOT) and Matt Berrry for the IT Crowd. That's entertaining in itself :pac:

The young David had some set of white gnashers on him.

I watched some of the David episode the other night and it's nowhere near as good as Game of Thrones that's for sure, they should really get George RR Martin to rewrite the bible.

Joking aside, what this show does it amply illustrate how utterly ludicrous it is that anyone should base their life choices around this book, you might as well believe in Saint Ned of Winterfell as believe any of the stuff in the bible.

Be careful apparently some spoilers have leaked about the final episode, damn book readers running it for everyone
