I am planning to drive to Spain this year and stay for a week around the Barcelona area. We are looking for a campsite that is reasonably priced and on the beach front. We also have some friends who don't have a campervan but would be interested ion staying in the same camp site in maybe a cabin or mobile home. Does anyone know of a camp site that they would recommend? We have 4 kids between us ranging from 10 to 15. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions?

    Hi,

We stayed here for a few days:

    http://www.camping3estrellas.net/ingles/index.html

you can get a bus in and out of the City (short walk required), it's right on the beach, and I think they have accommodation for your friends. We probably didn't use an electric hookup, but they do have one I think.

It is very near the airport, but the noise was no big deal for us.

    Hope this helps!

    Merv.

Yes stayed there too, a few times, I did have a scary moment which I will never forget, while on the beach in the evening at high tide watching the fishermen in boats, a freak wave with a strong side current completely swamped me and the 4 kids, the youngest, age 7, disappeared completely but fortunately was still on the beach when the wave went out. I asked was she OK and she said she dug her hands into the sand which I am sure saved her from being swept out to sea. Be careful at all beaches!
