looking at one of these as my current daily is killing me, any known problems i should look out for?

whats mpg like i hear they are fairly savage, I drive from cork to north wexford and back every weekend or 2, having a van would also be much handier than a car.

current car is a 97 corolla 1.3, good on the petrol apparently but mine is killing me.

I had a 1,3 accent before this and i used to do the journey for 20 euro each way, im putting in a minimum of 30 a go, somtimes 40 each way, depends on how i drive it, any other corolla owner im telling about it is telling me theres somthing wrong with the car but it never misses a beat so im at a loss, anybody got any ideas?

I had that 1.3 engine in my last astra van. It will do between 48-50 mpg. Ensure the engine is serviced with the correct oil mine took 5w30
Fully synthetic I think Doblo takes the same you'd have the check. People have a tendancy to through cheaper 10w40 into them and it ruins them. But other than that I couldn't fault the engine itself.
