never thought i would say this but is
it to dry for putting out cattle slurry
just after looking at weather forecast
and here in donegal we are not going
to get much rain in the next couple of
weeks so would the slurry be better in
    the tanks
    all opinions welcome:confused::confused::confused:

    No is short answer
What u don't want is a sun burning hot day as it will volitise.
    Overcast days are ideal

Don't know if this applies to you but there'd be no problem applying it to grazed ground. I applied slurry to ungrazed ground a month ago and really wish I hadn't. It's still stuck to the sward in places and we've had some serious rain since it was applied.

Isnt it better for the soil that it gets to stay on the ground for a while to rot in rather than being just washed in and probably out.....ya putting it on grass is a no no.

Much better washed into soil. If sits on top nutrients are lost

That only applies to the Nitrogen element.

What is the nitrogen content % of slurry?

I never get that saying, does he mean the good farmer has gone a week earlier and gotten the work done, or waited the extra week to do the work

I believe he means the good guy does it on time the bad one a week late.

Looks like xc weather is no more accurate than the rest, like I said after 4 days the forecast becomes less accurate.

Maybe it's a bit wet now you could do serious ground damage!

Do you lads think spreading slurry would have any benefit to grassland and cut ground if it was spread in the current hot weather. Would any of you spread or should I wait for a few dull days. It's kinda holding up my plans but suppose there isn't much of a growth anyway

Absolutely no point it's too hot ,whatever good is on if will just evaporate off and all your really doing is burning diesel and wasting your own time, better off wait till weather breaks.

Only benifit you would get from slurry in this weather is if you put it out with a trailing shoe or dribble bar and even then you would need some grass cover and some rain.

There is rain forecast for later this week but temps won't be that low. Is wait till Thursday if you really want to put it out.
