    Hi

The car is a Ford Fiesta '03. question about the handbrake warning light that comes on the dashboard when the handbrake is on. the light now comes on and off constandly when the handbrake is not on and im wondering is this light telling me theres something else wrong or is it just for the handbrake and its maybe just faulty and cant be ignored?

    Thanks

    Your brake fluid is low.

    Important light !!!!

In the normal run of things your fluid should not go low enough to trigger light unless very worn brakes or a leak, get it looked at.

That dampness shouldn't have anything got to do with your brakes unless it was a huge problem! Sounds like your brake pads need to be replaced.

My handbrake light doesnt come on at all, even when the handbrake is up. However, it flashes on and off when I go around corners fairly sharpish!

just sounds like a faulty light!

i got brake fluid and that has instandly worked. light doesnt appear anymore, but lesson learned, i need to do checks on the car to see if running low on anything. i'll monitor it incase the brake pads need changing. thanks everyone for the responses

The master cylinder on the brake pedal does leak too and causes a wet carpet depending on how much has come through it. If its leaking your possibly leaving yourself open to a air leak which you don't want.

    Thanks for the comment.

I was checking that today and also have taken the mat in to be dryed off and placed back to see if it gets wet again. Hopefully no problems. Cheers
