    nothing wrong with the site.

they do this really annoying thing where they only release a week at a time.

    completely ridiculous:mad:

Booked an NCT date for my car mid-January and the earliest date I could get for Galway was the week starting March 18th. So seems to be fairly normal :(
If you need an earlier date ring them for cancellations.

OP just ring them and request an appointment within 4 weeks.
They will give you one, and in unlikely case they won't be able to give you one, you will get your test for free.

sorry but this ising always the case, not 100%

also from what ive seen already that its very rare free tests are giving out unless we have a major cock up.

In regards to the website, its all the same for cancellations. as in they show up on the site I.e one live system we all use.

but it is true that the centres for the moment are booked out until april/may but every week is different !

I booked recently in Donegal and our local centre was the same online.

There appeared to be nothing for 2 months ahead, but each day I checked it some seemed to come online. Not sure if it was cancellations or what, but sometimes 4 or 5 together would become available, which was strange.

    My advice, check every day!

Cancelled slots are released onto the system once a day. Check in the morning and you might get lucky with a closer slot.

My car failed the NCT last Sat, that evening I went on the site and got a slot for Sunday (7 days later). You can just get lucky.
