Anyway what im asking is if anyone knows where to repair this or can i do it myself?

    what make
how do you know the brushes are gone(cheap enough to buy and replace)
perhaps its a loose connection somewhere(open the plugtop and check)

Like meercat says, check the obvious things first -- the plug and the cable. If they are OK, take out the brushes and check them. Depending on the make of the machine, there will be something like two plastic head screws towards the back. Unscrew them and the brushes will pop out. Local electric motor repair firms might carry suitable new brushes, or try www.espares.co.uk

They take on-line orders and ship to Ireland.

A lot of hardware/ builders providers carry a small selection of the more common size of carbon brushes.
